Recipe Details #
To adjust the settings, follow these steps:
- Navigate to WP Delicious > Settings > Recipe Settings > Recipe Post.
- Enable the Recipe Details Header to display the recipe title as an <H1> and include metadata on the recipe’s single page.
- Enable the Recipe Featured Image to show the featured image before the recipe card on the recipe’s single page.
Change Default Labels #
The plugin offers the flexibility to change the default labels as well as disable any information you don’t need. By default, all the information is enabled.
If you want to change the default label to your local language or preferred text, navigate to WP Delicious > Settings > Recipe Settings > Recipe Post Scroll down till you see Global Recipe Toggles.
To disable any information, simply toggle the button. To edit the default text, click on the Edit button, change the label, and click on the Save Changes button.
How to Enable Mark as Complete option? #
You can display an option to checkmark an instruction as “Mark as complete”, this will blur out the instruction indicating that the instructed has already been completed.
- Enable the button for Mark as complete.
How to enable the Favorites feature? #
The Wishlist feature will allow your readers to add your recipes to their wishlist. The recipes added to their wishlist will appear on their dashboard. If you haven’t configured the user dashboard settings, kindly refer to this documentation.
The Wishlist icon appears on your recipe featured image as shown below:
Here you will find the toggle to enable or disable the wishlist feature.
In addition to the icon on the featured image, the Wishlist button also appears on your single recipe at the top and in the recipe card as shown below:
Set Default Currency Globally #
This option provides ability to set a default currency that will apply globally to all recipes on the site, overriding the individual currency setting within each recipe. This global currency option allows for a more consistent display across all recipes, ensuring that all pricing information reflects a unified currency without the need to update each recipe individually.
To access this feature, navigate to the WP Delicious menu, then go to Settings > Recipe Settings > Recipe Post. Here, you will find the global currency setting option, allowing you to select the currency you want displayed across all recipe posts by default.
Additional Settings #
Some additional settings are explained as below:
Recipe Navigation: When this option is enabled, it will show the post navigation i.e. newer and older posts link below your recipes.
Show Last Updated Date: Enable this option to display the updated date instead of the published date for your recipes.
Display Recipe Author: When this option is enabled, it will show the post author below the title.
Display Recipe Published Date: As it signifies, when this option is enabled, it will display the published date of the recipes. We recommend to keep this option enabled.
Display Comments: When this option is enabled, it will display the comment section on your recipe post where your reader can rate and share their opinions.
Single Recipe Image Crop: Enable this option to auto-crop featured images in recipe single.
Recipe Archive Image Crop: Enable this option to auto-crop featured images in the recipe home, archive, and search pages.
Enable Pinit Button: Enable this option to display the Pinit button in recipe, archive, and search pages.
How to Enable Cook Mode? #
The Delicious Recipe Pro plugin includes an extra feature known as “Cook Mode” within this setting. The “Cook Mode” feature enhances the user experience by preventing the screen of the visitor’s device from sleeping when enabled. This setting ensures that the screen remains active even if the device is left idle for a certain period, making it particularly useful for users who are engaged in cooking activities or following recipes.
Toggle the switch to the “On” position to activate this feature.
Once enabled, your recipe card will display a new toggle for the Cook Mode so that your visitors can enable the Cook Mode and prevent the screen from sleeping if they are following your recipe.
How to Enable Multiple Images for Recipe Instructions? #
The Delicious Recipe Pro plugin includes a feature to add Multiple images for Recipe Instruction. within this setting. This feature allows you to display multiple images for each instruction. This helps you showcase your instructions more effectively with proper image presentation for your visitors, making the content clearer and more engaging.
To enable this feature please navigate to WP Delicious > Settings > Recipe Settings > Recipe Post.
You can now add multiple images to each instruction. To do this, navigate to Dashboard > Recipes, then either select an existing recipe or create a new one. In the recipe editor, go to Recipe Settings to add your images. For more details, please refer to this instruction.
