Recipe Categories Widget

The Recipe Categories Widget allows you to display the list of Recipe Categories added within a selected Recipe Taxonomy. The listed Recipe Categories link directly to the respective category pages providing visitors with organized and informative access.

You also have the choice to either display all the categories within a taxonomy or narrow them down to specific ones including the option to hide the categories with empty recipe posts.

How to add a Recipe Categories Widget? #

  1. Click to edit the page/post where you want to add the Recipe Categories widget
  1. Once you are on the page/post editor, click on Edit with Elementor
  1. Add a Section by clicking on the ‘+’ icon and select the Section structure
  1. Click on the Elementor icon to display the Elements option.
  1. On the Search Widget field, search for Recipe Categories
  1. Drag the Recipe Categories widget to the added Section

Recipe Categories Settings #

Layout Setting #

Layout: Choose your preferred layout to display the recipe categories.

Categories per Row: Select the number of recipes categories you want to display in a row.

Columns Gap: Adjust the column gap between the recipe categories.

Rows Gap: Adjust the row gap between the recipe categories.

Query Setting #

Taxonomy: Select the Recipe Taxonomy of whose categories you want to display inside the Recipe Categories widget.

Terms: Avoid this field if you want to display all the added categories. But if you want to display only specific categories inside the Recipe Categories widget then you can select those categories here.

Hide Empty: Enable this option to hide the recipe categories that contain zero number of recipe posts.

Additional Setting #

Category Image: Enable this option to display the featured image assigned to the categories listed.

Category Name: Enable this option to display the recipe category name.

Category Tag: This option is only available when the Category Name option is enabled. Select the heading tag you want to apply to the recipe category name.

Category Count: Enable this option to display the number of recipe posts belonging to the listed recipe categories.

Content Setting #

Background: This option determines the background color for the recipe category card. Selecting the ‘Default’ option will apply the Taxonomy color you have selected as the background color. If you choose the ‘Custom’ option, then you can further select a background color to apply to all the recipe category cards.

Background Color: This option is visible when you select the ‘Custom’ option for the Background. You can select a background color for the recipe category card here.

Padding: Here you can set the padding value for the recipe category card content.

Border Type: You can assign a border style for the recipe category card.

Width: Select a width value for the border added.

Color: Select a color for the border added.

Border Radius: Enter the border-radius value for the recipe category card.

Box Shadow: Configure this setting to apply a box shadow effect to each recipe category listed.

Alignment: Select the alignment for the recipe category card content.

Category Name Setting #

Color: Select a color for the recipe category name.

Hover Color: Select a hover color for the recipe category name.

Typography: Configure the typography setting for the recipe category name.

Count Setting #

Padding: Enter the padding value for the recipe post count container.

Color: Select the color for the recipe count text.

Background Color: Select the background color for the recipe post count container.

Border Radius: Enter the border-radius value for the recipe post count container.

Typography: Configure the typography setting for the recipe post count text.
